Alberta & BC REGIONAL REP ANNUAL REPORT - 2010/2011
As I had promised a year ago, Larry Fowell will be taking over the Regional Rep position this October 1, 2010. Larry has been the Area Rep for the Edmonton Chapter for a few years now. Larry has been involved with a few membership drives in Central Alberta and BC with me. Thanks to everyone for the years of support and fun.
“Ranger” Don
It comes with great pleasure to be appointed to this position and I thank Ranger Don and the Canadian and International Directors as well for the appointment.
Over the years, Don has done so much for the Club. He has spent many hours working for the benefit of the region and to ensure the future of the Retreads. He has put great effort into the Biking Community around the Alberta region. Old Bones was started and nurtured by him over the years and is now our Regional Rally. I would like to take this opportunity to thank him, from all the Retreads, for all that he has done for our organization. I only hope that I can do as fine a job and bring as much enthusiasm to my position as he did. He leaves some big boots to fill.
Thanks Don, you will be missed.
You have touched our hearts and our lives in such a big way and we THANK YOU for that!! Motorcycle kindred’s usually have that affect on each other. We have made lifelong friends through our adventures and that's what means the most to us now. Thanks from Barbie and I.
Some New Business
As of today we have a total of 156 members in the Region of AB/BC. This is great news. We have a chapter in Abbotsford, BC now and we are soon to have another forming in Central Alberta. I must also say that the members of the Okotoks chapter are outstanding. We can all learn from their example about how much fun can legally be had in a chapter. Edmonton chapter has had 19 new members this year, which is a great growth in a year.
We now need to find an Area Rep and Assistant for the Edmonton chapter, as my new position leaves a vacancy there.
The new membership cards for 2011 should be coming soon. We are starting to work on the 2011 Old Bones Annual Regional Rally of AB/BC. This will be June 3 to the 5. We are looking forward to seeing everyone there.
